Summary
In 2025, we empowered recruiters to view their candidate interviews and events in one place with all context they needed a click away. Our first customer of this release was MGM. We completely replaced their existing CRM and seamlessly integrated with their ATS. Humanly saved hours of daily manual scheduling for MGM recruiters and continue to do so for many other enterprise and mid-market customers.
Scheduling qualified candidates is overwhelming and tedious.
For example, every year MGM recruiters hire over 20,000 hospitality employees while also managing approximately 3,500 internal transfers and 1,300 open job requisitions. Each recruiter handles between 30 and 100 open requisitions at any given time, relying on in-person hiring events to expand their sourcing reach and fill positions quickly. However, their current event management systems the outcome of events are that:
40% of candidates who register for the event never show up
30% of event attendees are walk-ins, reducing candidate quality
Why is this happening?
Here, recruiters juggle disconnected-legacy-systems-of-record to manage events. Leading to inefficiencies, redundant tasks, and lost candidate engagement. Legacy systems are rigid, failing to clean, organize, and scale data effectively. Additionally, event management lacks seamless ATS integration, forcing manual tracking of RSVPs, applications, and engagement. Outdated systems hinder scalability, making data fragmented and difficult to adapt to modern hiring needs.
As a result, candidates are left forgotten, while recruiters are overwhelmed by tools and a high volume of applicants.
The opportunity
MGM’s hiring challenges validated our belief that service industry hiring teams remain stuck in traditional, manual processes that leave little room for creativity or strategic optimization. Their reliance on outdated methods, despite high hiring volumes, confirmed our thesis: the industry lacks the tools to scale efficiently. Solving this for MGM isn’t just about meeting their needs—it’s about creating a scalable solution for all mid-market customers facing similar obstacles.
Initially, our partner Happy Dance assumed that a website redesign and continued use of MGM’s existing software would be the fastest solution. However, through further distillation of the user journey for both recruiters and candidates, we identified deeper, systemic challenges. These insights led us to key questions, shaping a more effective solution—one that not only integrates seamlessly into our existing platform and chatbot but also requires minimal engineering effort for significant ROI.
01
How might we consolidate event creation, management, and candidate tracking into a single, seamless workflow to reduce recruiter workload and eliminate redundant tasks?
02
How might we integrate event management directly with an ATS to ensure real-time updates on candidate applications, RSVPs, and engagement without requiring manual data entry?
03
How might we automate candidate communication and follow-ups (email, SMS, and reminders) to improve event attendance and recruiter efficiency?
04
How might we leverage our proprietary chatbots to enhance the candidate experience by retaining their information and delivering smarter job recommendations and career growth support.
05
How might we shift recruiters away from static registration models and empower them with dynamic, automated outreach that maximizes candidate engagement?
04
How might we leverage our proprietary chatbots to enhance the candidate experience by retaining their information and delivering smarter job recommendations and career growth support.
Additionally, this project presents a unique opportunity to challenge the industry’s reliance on static website-hosted registration links. With our event link chatbot experience, recruiters can reclaim autonomy, effortlessly sharing access through SMS and email. This shift allows our platform and chatbot to work for them—even in their sleep.
